In the early hours of Saturday, a shooting incident occurred on Mirza Ghalib Street, Park Street, resulting in one person being injured. The victim, Eklas Beg (29), was admitted to SSKM Hospital after being shot in the right leg. The altercation began the previous afternoon when Eklas Beg and a local youth named Sona had a disagreement over a bike overtaking incident. According to police sources, a group of 50-60 individuals arrived and fired at Beg, leading to his injury. Local residents rushed him to the hospital before the police arrived.

The primary suspect, Sona, along with his accomplices, remains at large following the incident. Park Street police have initiated a search operation to apprehend the accused, who are facing charges of attempted murder.
